Best Time to Visit Kedarnath Dham

Kedarnath has the best weather during the summer months which creates a beautiful atmosphere in the surrounding areas. This season is perfect for visiting the temple, sightseeing, and discovering the nearby attractions. Summer, which typically spans from May to June, features a mild climate with an average temperature of around 17°C.

Travelers planning to KEDARNATH DHAM Yatra we advised you to avoid the monsoon season, which typically lasts from mid-June to August, as the frequent landslides during this time make it challenging for pilgrims to travel safely. The months of July, August, and early September are particularly affected by monsoon rains, resulting in occasional showers and a significant drop in temperature, reaching as low as 12°C.

During the winter months, the Kedarnath temple is inaccessible due to the extreme cold and heavy snowfall, which blocks the roads. The deity of Lord Shiva is moved to the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath from November to April. The Kedarnath temple reopens in May for devotees to embark on their pilgrimage.
